Product Definition
What Is PE-Coated Paper?
PE-coated paper is paper or paperboard laminated with a polyethylene layer through extrusion coating. The PE layer is commonly selected to support moisture resistance, grease resistance, heat-sealing performance, and compatibility with specified food-packaging converting processes.
PetiPaper manufactures PE-coated paper as a raw material for downstream converters. Final suitability depends on the specified base paper, coating configuration, equipment settings, inks, forming design, intended contents, storage conditions, and destination-market requirements.
Base Paper or Paperboard
Selected for required grammage, stiffness, bulk, surface, converting method, and end-use performance.
Extruded PE Layer
Applied on one or both sides at technically confirmed coating weights.
Converter-Led Validation
Printing, die-cutting, curling, heat-sealing, forming, leakage, and production yield should be validated on actual equipment.
Approved Sample Control
Commercial production specifications and inspection criteria are locked after technical agreement and sample approval.
Coating Structure Comparison
Single-Side vs Double-Side PE-Coated Paper
The correct structure depends on the final package design, product contents, printing approach, converting process, and verified performance needs.

Technical Specification Range
Producible PE-Coated Paper Specifications
The ranges below are planning references, not a final specification offer. Actual supply capability depends on material sourcing, production scheduling, dimensions, coating configuration, application, quantity, quality requirements, and technical confirmation.
| Parameter | Indicative Range / Option | Technical Confirmation Required |
|---|---|---|
| Coating Structure | Single-side PE (1S) or double-side PE (2S) | Selected according to package design and converting process. |
| Base Paper Grammage | Typically 150 g/m² to 350 g/m² | Specific grade, stiffness, bulk, surface, and availability require review. |
| PE Coating Weight | Typically 12 g/m² to 24 g/m² per coated side | Target weight, tolerance, side allocation, and performance expectations must be confirmed. |
| Supply Format | Jumbo rolls, slit rolls, or custom cut sheets | Format depends on production capability, conversion method, packing requirement, and quantity. |
